Yoga is a union of the soul. In the ancient Indian text, yoga is defined as different states of consciousness that comes and goes and as a Liberation practice – Liberation of the external soul.
There are misconceptions that yoga is only for people with fit and flexible bodies. This is very untrue. Yoga is a practice of self study and inquiry, teaching us how to connect the body, mind and soul. It is a practice that is meant for everyone, no matter the age, gender, size and shape.
Yoga teaches us how to properly align, stretch and strengthen the body through breath work, organic movement (yoga postures), and mindfulness. It is proven that yoga can help balance the nervous system, studies have shown practicing yoga reduces our stress levels, creates a greater sense of body awareness and helps us feel more grounded and calm.
